In brief
Technical direction for Figma customer evenings in Paris, Madrid and Barcelona since 2022. Around ten events to date. Conference + networking format for Figma's European clients.
American standards expected by a demanding Figma team. Clean filming, sound, on-set video. Holding the same quality level across three different cities in France and Spain, mostly as a solo operator, with a managed team when scope demands it.
Solo technical direction on most setups. Local partner teams in Madrid and Barcelona when needed. Gear transported or rented locally depending on context. One single point of contact for Figma across the three cities.
Continuously renewed since 2022. Around ten events delivered. Testimonial from Figma's France & Spain Marketing Director featured on the homepage.

Context
Since 2022, I've been the regular technical provider for Figma, the maker of the collaborative design tool used by most designers and product teams worldwide. Around ten events have been produced over this period, in three cities: Paris, Madrid, Barcelona.
The events are customer evenings. Audience of around 150 people on average, mainly graphic designers, marketers and web technical staff. Intimate, high-quality format, designed to bring the local Figma community together around a product presentation, an expert user panel or a customer case study demonstration.
I'm commissioned directly by Adrien Dubuisson, Marketing Director Figma France & Spain, on a project-by-project basis. No framework contract, no intermediary agency. Adrien Dubuisson briefs me, I propose a setup tailored to the event, I take charge of the entire technical production on site, I deliver the replay after the event.
This case study captures the Nomacast promise
All my other case studies (Louvre, Comédie-Française, Johnson & Johnson, EBG Berlin, Global Industrie for GL Events) are setups where I lead teams of 8 to 15 technicians. This Figma case is deliberately smaller in scale, and that's exactly what makes it instructive.
A global tech brand, whose audience is overwhelmingly composed of designers (the most demanding eye there is when it comes to visual quality), entrusts me with its customer evenings in France and Spain, for three years now, on direct commission. Not a Paris agency with ten people in a meeting. A solo operator who takes charge of the entire technical production, from brief to delivery.
That's the exact sweet spot of the Nomacast offer: agency-grade quality with one single point of contact. And the best proof that this model works over time is that Adrien Dubuisson keeps calling me three years later, event after event.
My role: everything, in autonomy
On these Figma evenings, I wear all the technical production hats in parallel:
- Direct client interface with Adrien Dubuisson and his marketing team
- Project manager: scheduling, site surveys, technical budget, coordination with the venues and local Figma teams
- Technical director: setup architecture, equipment choices, network configuration
- PTZ operator: live control of the three PTZ cameras during the evening
- Vision mixer: switching, branding, source management, broadcast encoding when there's a live
- Post-production technician: file recovery, mixing, replay delivery
When the sound need exceeds what I can handle alongside the filming, I bring in a technical sound partner whom I direct for the duration of the event. This flexibility (solo by default, partner team on demand when scope requires it) lets me precisely fit the setup to the actual need, without billing a full team when it isn't necessary.
The technical setup
Typical configuration for a Figma evening
- 3 motorised 4K cameras: wide stage shot, medium speaker shot, close-up for details and audience
- Centralised production gallery for switching and branding
- Stage lighting kit sized to the venue to ensure clean exposure of the speakers
- Live slide integration from the gallery
- Optional live streaming depending on the evening (sometimes live, sometimes filming only for replay)
- Sound outsourced to a technical partner depending on the evening's scope, directed by me
- Post-event delivery of the edited replay file
Constraints
- Visually demanding Figma audience: the designers in the audience instantly spot a poorly framed shot, an abrupt transition, branding that doesn't match the style guide. The acceptable quality level is markedly higher than for a generalist corporate audience.
- Multi-country, multilingual: evenings can be held in French, English or Spanish depending on the city and the audience. The setup has to adapt without dropping in quality.
- Cross-border France-Spain logistics: for events in Madrid and Barcelona, I bring some of the equipment from France and rent the rest locally from local providers. This split optimises costs while ensuring a constant technical standard.
- Intimate format but professional standard: 150 people in the room is small. But the filming has to produce a post-event deliverable usable by Figma's marketing team for internal communications and their channels. The quality standard is broadcast, not simple internal archive.
How it typically runs
- Direct brief from Adrien Dubuisson: defining the format, venue, expected audience, evening specifics (live or not, language, speakers).
- Preparation: remote or on-site survey depending on availability, technical setup preparation, logistics coordination for events in Spain (gear transport + local rental).
- On site: installation, tests, filming and live broadcast when planned, full management of the technical setup.
- Post-event: file recovery, mixing and replay editing, delivery to Figma's marketing team for their internal and communication uses.
Results
- Three years of continuous collaboration with Figma since 2022, in direct relationship with Adrien Dubuisson.
- Around ten events produced across three cities (Paris, Madrid, Barcelona), on a project-by-project commission basis.
- Multilingual mastered: French, English, Spanish depending on the cities and evenings.
- No major technical incident compromising an event over the entire period.
What I take away
Figma customer evenings are the perfect counterpoint to large multi-site setups (J&J 6 cities, EBG Berlin, GL Events Global Industrie). Here, no central gallery with 8 directors, no 20m³ logistics, no pharma compliance NDA. An intimate evening, 150 people, a simple well-rehearsed setup, a solo operator who takes everything on.
And that's exactly why this case study matters. It proves you can serve a global tech brand, in front of an audience that's ultra-demanding on visual quality, on direct commission, in full autonomy, in two different countries, in three languages, for three years without interruption. The quality of an event service isn't measured only by the size of the technical setup. It's also measured by the smoothness of execution, the quality of the client relationship, and the ability to reproduce that result event after event without giving anything up.
Working with Figma and Adrien Dubuisson since 2022 is one of the professional achievements I'm most proud of. Not for the size of the setup. For the trust and the duration.
